ZestKids (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to providing a safe, secure, and educational experience for children. This Privacy Policy explains how our application handles information and how we protect children’s privacy in compliance with the following standards:

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
GDPR-K (General Data Protection Regulation for Kids)

By using ZestKids, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Children’s Safety Commitment

ZestKids is a child-directed educational application created specifically for children and families.

We prioritize:

Child safety
Privacy protection
Secure learning experiences
Age-appropriate content

ZestKids does NOT include:

Public chat systems
Messaging features
Social media integration
User-to-user communication
Public profile sharing

Children cannot communicate with strangers through the app.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We follow a strict Data Minimization Policy. We do NOT collect, store, or share:

Full names or Phone numbers
Email addresses from children
Home addresses or Real-time GPS location
Contacts or Biometric information
Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

Users can use the app without:

Registration or Login
Creating an account

3. Camera & Storage Permissions

ZestKids may request limited access to the Camera and Local device storage. These permissions are used only for:

Setting a local avatar/profile image.
Saving drawings or learning activities locally.
Storing app progress locally on the device.

Important Privacy Notice:

All images and drawings remain stored locally on the user’s device.
They are NOT uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.
We do not remotely access personal photos or files.

4. Internet Access & Third-Party Services

Internet access is used only for essential app functionality, child-safe advertisements, and anonymous analytics. We only use third-party services that comply with Google Play Families Policy.

A. Google Play Services

Used for secure app distribution and essential Android services.

B. Firebase Analytics

Used for anonymous usage statistics and crash reporting.

Data is Aggregated, Anonymous, and Non-personal.
We do not use Firebase Analytics to personally identify users.

C. Google AdMob

We display limited child-appropriate advertisements.

Child Safety Settings: We have enabled tagForChildDirectedTreatment and maxAdContentRating = G.
No Personalized Advertising: We do NOT use behavioral advertising or interest-based targeting for children.

D. YouTube Player

Some educational content (stories and rhymes) may be displayed via YouTube’s embedded player.

We only embed pre-selected, age-appropriate, child-safe videos.
YouTube’s own privacy policy applies to video playback. We do not control YouTube’s data practices.
No YouTube account or login is required to watch videos in the app.

E. Text-to-Speech (TTS)

ZestKids uses the device’s built-in Text-to-Speech engine to read stories and alphabets aloud for children.

This feature works entirely on-device.
No audio data is recorded, stored, or transmitted.

F. External Links

Certain sections of the app may use a URL Launcher to open external links (such as our Privacy Policy page) in the device’s browser.

We only link to our own official pages.
We do not link to third-party commercial websites from within the app.

5. No Data Selling

We do NOT sell, rent, or share children’s personal information with third parties.

ZestKids does not contain chat rooms, messaging systems, or social networking features. Users cannot interact with strangers inside the app.

7. Local Data Storage & Retention

Game progress and saved activities are stored only on the local device. If the application is uninstalled, locally stored app data may also be removed.

8. Security Measures

We implement reasonable safeguards to prevent unauthorized access and maintain a secure user experience. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

9. Parents’ Rights

Parents and guardians have the right to review our privacy practices and contact us regarding safety concerns. If you believe we have unintentionally collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

10. COPPA Compliance

ZestKids complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do NOT knowingly collect, use, or share personal information from children under 13 years of age.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
